Yesterday I visited an old lady in hospital, who wants to return to her empty home, while everyone tells her she can't live on her own. Why can't we accept, as do little children, that others know best?
I was born in the West of Scotland in 1932. I left for Canada when I was twenty-three, living first in Montreal, and then New York city, before moving and living in Connecticut, for the next thirty years. I spent several years in the accounting profession, both in Montreal and New York, before working for several Fortune 500 companies. I now live mostly in Portmarnock, north of Dublin, beside the Irish Sea, although I spend part of the year in Charleston, South Carolina.
